ELAC- English Language Advisory Committee
The parents, students, and teachers that are elected to serve on the English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) meet monthly to determine the needs of the school's English language learner students and how to utilize school and district resources, including Bilingual funds, to meet those needs. They also ensure compliance with Federal and state bilingual regulations and policies.
The parents and students on this committee work hard and are vital part of the school but they also take pleasure in the work they do. They present their proposals and recommendations to the School Site Council for final consideration.
SSC/SI- School Site Council
The School Site Council (SSC) is the governing body of the school and consists of parents, students, teachers, and administrators. This council makes decisions about budgets and funding, as well as considering for approval the recommendations of the advisory councils.
The SSC also developed the Single School Plan for Student Achievement and monitors its implementation and ensures the budgets are aligned to the needs identified in the Plan. The dedicated members of this council meet monthly or more frequently if needed.
