Greetings Wonderful Webster Families! Welcome back to Daniel Webster Middle School and the 2016-17 school year!

I am excited to begin my third year as Principal here. Last year was amazing and I truly enjoyed getting to know your child. Our school is filled with talented student leaders and scholars. We are dedicated to ensuring every child is supported, challenged, and pushed to their full potential. I continue to be committed to maintaining a safe, clean, academically rigorous, and positive school environment that will allow your child to thrive and learn.

Daniel Webster Middle School is experiencing success like never before! We are excited about many things, including the following:

  • Webster continues to develop the effective use of one to one devices (iPads) and instructional technology to support achieving student learning goals. This year iPads will be deployed during the 2nd week of school with an option to take them home.
  • We continue to grow our Robotics Lab and STEAM Maker Space. This year we have purchased new Lego Robotic Kits, Arduino Circuit Boards, and Makerbot 3-D printer. Thank you to our partners for helping to make this happen.
  • Our S.T.E.A.M. Magnet Center opens in the 2017-2018 school year. Families will be able to apply through eChoices.lausd.net starting in October 2016. We are committed to ensuring Webster students culminate with the 21st century skills of creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication.
  • Students continue to have opportunities to participate in music, robotics, horticulture, and intramural and interscholastic athletic competition.
  • Webster is part of the District’s DROPS grant and will be establishing an ECO-Club that will allow students to design, develop, and build drought resistant eco systems throughout the campus.

We are all in this together and need your support! Please ensure that your child is on time to school each day and complies with our school rules and dress code. There will be many opportunities to volunteer this year whether it’s by joining one of our decision making bodies like school site council, helping with school tours, supporting our staff during Teacher Appreciation Week, or helping with fund raising and donations. It is your involvement and support that will continue to help make Daniel Webster Middle School GREAT. Your child will be bringing home more information once school begins.

I hope your son or daughter is as excited to return to school as we are to receive them! I look forward to working side by side with you to ensure your young scholar’s success!
