This is our mantra for the school year. In our choices, actions, and growth as a learning community, we strive for nothing less than excellence. With this vision, we celebrate our success in reaching our goal of student achievement. With this vision, we come together as a community of learners striving to continue to close the achievement gap and provide an excellent education and experience for all of our students.

I am particularly excited as Webster’s principal to be part of laying the foundation of energy, commitment, and focus. We have expanded our academic enrichment programs and will offer after school math and English support. We present a variety of after school activities on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays ranging from tutoring to sports, crochet to chess club. Additionally, Prime Time is an after school resource 5 days a week offering a successful balance between athletics and academics. This program begins at 3pm and ends at 6pm. In October, we will begin our Saturday School program to support our 6th grade population.

We are introducing a variety of positive incentive programs to encourage our students to be successful readers, model citizens, and environmental advocates. With SEA (Students for Environmental Action) students raise campus awareness through fundraising programs that benefit Webster, the rainforests, and the world! Our VAPA program offers numerous opportunities for students to showcase their talent. Our plays, art exhibits, and musical extravaganzas have been proudly recognized by our District.

Webster remains a diverse community striving for continued success. Although we are located in West Los Angeles, our students come from all over, making us Title I, school-wide. With enthusiasm and expectation, we welcome all scholars and their families to the 2006-2007 school year.
